Lake Saint Anne (Lacul Sfânta Ana)

Saint Ana Lake is the only volcanic lake in Romania, located in Harghita County, on the bottom of an extinct volcano crater in the Ciomatu Massif. This natural jewel is distinguished by the extreme purity of the water, fed exclusively by precipitation, and by its almost circular shape surrounded by dense coniferous forests. Scarisoara Glacier Cave (Peştera Gheţarul de la Scărişoara)

The Glacier Cave from Scarisoara is the first speleological reservation in Romania, located in the Apuseni Mountains, Alba County. The place hides a huge block of ice over 10,000 years old, perfectly preserved at the bottom of a 48-meter deep pit. Descending the stairs anchored in the rock instantly transposes you from a green mountain landscape directly into a frozen microclimate, where the Great Hall impresses with translucent ice stalagmites that never melt.
